Adult Sensory Integration and Self-Awareness Series:
KNOW YOURSELF
Join us for a series of 3 group-based occupational therapy sessions to improve your self-understanding and your coping skills. Each group will build upon the last and participants can engage at their own comfort level.
Group 1: Mapping out myself; How am I wired?
Group 2: Mapping out my world; How do I cope?
Group 3: Facilitating my performance; How do I integrate myself and my world?
Please note there are no current group therapy dates set up. Please contact if you are interested in setting up a group therapy or individual session using the group protocol.

Cost: $75.00 per 90 minute group session
All groups are held at the Virginia Beach Campus of Tidewater Community College.
The purpose of this 3 part intervention series is to facilitate self-awareness, self-regulation and coping skills, using a group based occupational therapy context. This group therapy protocol utilizes theories from several Frames of Reference, including Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Model of Human Occupations [MOH], and Ayres Sensory Integration [ASI].
Participants can expect to gain a general understanding of Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration, improve self-awareness and identify individual strengths, functional deficits, and coping strategies. Participants will guide their own learning and application of presented concepts. Participants are encouraged to share their own results and self-applications with group members, but sharing will be conducted at each individual's comfort level. Each group is individually priced, and are 90 minutes in length.
Each group is designed to be completed within the series. However, groups are also designed to stand alone if one wishes to take out of order or only desires to participate in just 1 group. It is recommended, but not required, that group participates attend offered Educational Lectures prior to participating in group therapy sessions.
Insurance Information
At this time, we are NOT able to accept health insurance plans. Payments may be made via cash or check. Payments for services may be submitted for reimbursement as individual health insurance plans allow. Individuals looking for reimbursement from their insurance companies will need to obtain a medical perscription prior to participating in occupational therapy services. We hope to be able to accept insurance in the future and will keep you updated as soon as this changes!

Currently we offer consultative services to adults in a community or in-home setting. We offer lectures and workshops for peoples who are interested in self-reflection and self-improvement
Individual Therapy

Fees for Services
Individual Evaluation - Introductory rate/discounted self-pay rate is $200.00. Individual evaluations consist of 1 or 2 meetings to assess occupational performance in a holistic and client centered way. Evaluations will include identified strengths and performance deficits, treatment plan and individualized goals.
Individual Therapy- Discounted self-pay rate of $100.00/hour. Participants must participate in individual evaluation prior to individual treatment sessions. Treatments may take place in home or community settings.
Group Therapy- Discounted self-pay rate of $75.00 per session.
Sessions will be 90 minutes each. Participants must complete screening questionairre to determine group eligibility; there is no fee associated with screening process
Lectures- self-pay rate of $25.00 per event. Individual events/lectures may be presented as part of a series; each lecture in the series will require separate registration and payment. There is no screening questionairre or consent for treatment form required for attending lectures
Ergonomic Consultation- Discounted self-pay rate of $150.00 per physical environment. An ergonomic consultation consists of assessment of physical environment with recommendations
